The Forum represents intellectuals and representatives of major religions (Islam, Christianity and Judaism), as well as a select group of religious scholars, academics and heads of interfaith dialogue centers from around the world, allowing those interested in interfaith and intercultural dialogue to address issues of concern to societies and to discuss Challenges to coexistence and peaceful coexistence between religions and multiculturalism; to foster a culture of peace among human beings. The Center also seeks through these conferences to bring the views of different parties closer together

Interfaith encounters began in the form of a global symposium between Muslim and Christian scholars to discuss topics of inter-religious interest. The first forum was entitled “The Islamic-Christian Dialogue.” The symposium then developed into a large number of international conferences. Scholars and specialists in the three Abrahamic faiths (Islam, Christianity and Judaism) as well as academics and politicians. Through these conferences, the Center seeks to bring the views of different parties closer together to reach a common ground of vision on the basis of religious values ​​in order to come up with some solutions in the form of recommendations that contribute to finding some solutions to the problems facing the world around us. The first conference of the Interfaith Dialogue in Doha was held in 2003 under the title “Freedom of Religion”, followed by the second conference in 2004 entitled “Building Bridges”. The third conference was held in 2005 entitled “The role of religions in building human civilization” A center for interreligious dialogue. This was the start, and then the conferences went on until the Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue opened in May 2007.
