Mission and Objectives 

Mission: The library at Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue’s mission is to strive to serve thinking minds in interfaith dialogue.

The objectives are to:

Acquire and provide academic references needed by researchers.

Store, organize and provide access to the Center’s publications.

Facilitate and enable exchange services with other local libraries, such as Qatar University library, Faculty of Islamic Studies library at Hamad bin Khalifa University, National Library of Qatar and Qatar Library `` Dar ul-kutub``.

Enable effective global collaborations with access to specialized international libraries in interfaith dialogue.

Acquire and provide academic references needed by researchers.

Build library resources in the field of interfaith dialogue in Qatar.

Library collections

The library’s collections encompasses both print and electronic resources such as books, encyclopedias, dictionaries, bibliographies, periodicals, conference proceedings, reports of seminars and workshops addressing interfaith dialogue

As the first Organization to promote Interfaith Dialogue in the region, a special archive of activities such as audio-visual materials such as DVD recordings of the conferences, seminars and workshops, organized by the Center or held in collaboration with other institutions, universities and centers will be accessible to interested individuals.

Library Technical Services

Supply Service

A continuous supply of library resources through a specialized committee to select books, periodicals and other materials throughout the world. The committee consists of university professors and researchers in the fields of interfaith dialogue.

Indexing Services

Sources of information such as books, periodicals and other dedicated software at the library can be used to store and retrieve information. By typing the search criteria i.e. author name, book name, subject or keywords, information from books, periodicals, articles and conferences can be found.

Photocopying Service:

copying some pages of books that cannot be borrowed.

Current information:

briefing beneficiaries of news from the library collection and notifying through e-mail or mobile phone messages.

Selective dissemination:

the continuous briefing services provide researchers periodically all the information related to their interests. This service is tailored to the needs of each researcher, which is determined in advance for thematic areas of interest for each researcher.

Loaning service:

Record keeping of resources used inside or outside the library (external lending). – Subscription and access to specialized database.

Lending Policy

Library allows lending books for 10 days, and after that the Patron can renew the subscription.

From Sunday to Wednesday
Morning: from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Afternoon: 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM

 

Thursday 
Morning: 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM
